Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday described the Indian Air Force (IAF) as technologically advanced, operationally agile, and strategically confident, safeguarding national interests in a rapidly evolving global order.
Addressing the Air Force Commanders’ Conclave, Singh lauded the Armed Forces’ precision during Operation Sindoor and the public’s trust in India’s air defence capabilities. “Air power is not just a tactical asset but a strategic instrument, delivering speed, reach, and precision to uphold national interests,” he said.
He emphasised the growing role of technology in modern warfare, citing cyber warfare, AI, UAVs, satellite surveillance, and precision-guided weapons as integral to future conflicts. Singh highlighted initiatives like Sudarshan Chakra, indigenous jet engines, and private-sector collaboration through iDEX and ADITI to modernise the IAF.
