Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday said that India achieving electronics exports worth over USD 47 billion was the result of sustained policy reforms and firm leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and not a coincidence.
Describing the milestone as a clear reflection of the success of the Make in India programme, Khandu said the country’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem has undergone a significant transformation in recent years.
In a post on X, the chief minister said India’s performance in electronics exports demonstrates the impact of consistent reforms and long-term vision pursued by the Modi government.
India’s $47 bn electronics export milestone is no accident. It is the result of decisive leadership and consistent reforms under PM Shri @narendramodi Ji.

Sharing data for the calendar year 2025, Khandu noted that electronics exports stood at USD 47 billion, registering a growth of 37 per cent compared to the previous year.
He highlighted that nearly USD 30 billion worth of exports came from smartphone manufacturing supported by the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, underlining its role in strengthening domestic production capabilities.
According to Khandu, iPhone shipments alone contributed around USD 22 billion, forming nearly half of the total electronics exports during the year.
He further said that about three-fourths of India’s smartphone exports are now manufactured domestically, marking a sharp departure from the earlier reliance on imports.
Pointing to monthly trends, the chief minister said electronics exports reached USD 4.17 billion in December, reflecting strong and sustained demand. He added that exports crossed the USD 4 billion mark in seven months during 2025, signalling consistent growth across the year.
Khandu said electronics has emerged as India’s third-largest export segment, rising rapidly over the past five years.
He added that the sector was among the fastest-growing export categories in 2025, showcasing India’s increasing integration into global supply chains.
