Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh RSS leader Indresh Kumar condemned the remarks of a Congress leader from Kerala who compared the RSS with the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) and sought action against it.

The Kerala Congress MP Kodikunnil Suresh has demanded a ban on RSS on the lines of the PFI.

Opposing the ban on the PFI, he said, "We demand a ban on the RSS as well. Ban on PFI is not a solution, as RSS is also spreading Hindu communalism across the country.”

On this issue, Kumar said, the demand to ban RSS and link it with PFI is ‘unconstitutional, undemocratic, and inhuman and also against the honour of the country.’

He said there is no point in vilifying the RSS, as all such attempts in the past have gone in vain. The tunes of the Left and Congress represent the same elements that were responsible for the partition of the country.

“Congress can never wash away this sin by abusing RSS.”

In the past, when the RSS was banned by the then Congress governments, Kumar said the party had to face defeat in all elections.

The Congress banned the RSS in 1948, alleging it was involved in the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi, but they could not the allegations, he said.
The ban had to be lifted.

Indira Gandhi imposed an emergency in the country and banned the RSS, but she too had to lift the ban.

The RSS has emerged as the protector of democracy. After the demolition of the illegal structure on the Ram Mandir Janmabhoomi, Congress once again banned the RSS, but they had to face defeat.

Kumar said, “Neither Hindu nor Hindutva can be communal. The whole world knows and believes that Hinduism and Hindutva are only universally respected and accepted.

The RSS leader welcomed the action against PFI and said that the organization resorted to violence and hence it was necessary to ban it.

"This was a long pending demand that the Centre has fulfilled. The government should teach such a lesson that terrorism should be eradicated from India," he said.
