Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday visited the Shree Swami Samarth Parivar Temple in Goa, where he declined to comment on political matters, saying a temple was not the place for such discussions.

Kejriwal, who arrived in the coastal state on Wednesday for a three-day visit, visited the temple in Siolim village in North Goa. He was accompanied by Atishi Marlena, Delhi’s Leader of Opposition, along with Goa AAP president Valmiki Naik and other party leaders.

When asked by reporters about the 2027 Goa Assembly elections, Kejriwal replied, “Sorry! I don’t want to talk about politics in the temple.”

The former Delhi chief minister said he had prayed for the prosperity and well-being of the people of Goa.

“I felt good coming here. I prayed for the well-being and prosperity of Goans,” he told reporters.

The Aam Aadmi Party has said Kejriwal’s visit reflects the party’s increasing focus on Goa and its efforts to strengthen its grassroots organisation in the BJP-ruled state ahead of the assembly elections due next year.
