Telecom operator Vodafone Idea plans only limited adjustments in current mobile tariffs and is not considering a broad-based increase in rates at present, a senior company executive said on Friday.

Recently, Bharti Airtel raised prepaid recharge prices by around 4-5 per cent, while analysts have estimated that telecom companies could increase tariffs by nearly 15 per cent during the first half of the year.

Speaking on the sidelines of the COAI Digicom Summit 2026, Vodafone Idea Chief Executive Officer Abhijit Kishore said any changes would be modest rather than a major revision.

“There may be some minor corrections, but not the kind of structural hike usually seen,” Kishore said.

He added that the government’s stake in the company reflects confidence in Vodafone Idea, and management remains focused on improving operational performance.

“The government holds a 49 per cent share, and we value that greatly. Our priority is to enhance performance, which is visible in subscriber trends reported for February and March,” he said.

After witnessing a fall in its subscriber base over the past few years, the telecom operator has recently shown signs of recovery. According to the latest TRAI data, Vodafone Idea added more than one lakh mobile subscribers in March.
