Several Indian scholars and thinkers have said the recent killings of minority members in Kashmir is part of a conspiracy to damage the future of the Kashmiri youth.

Terrorism has suddenly risen in Kashmir. Non-Muslims are being specifically targeted. Two days ago, in two hours, three people, including a well-known businessman from Srinagar, were shot dead. The very next day, the terrorists intruded into a school and killed its principal and a teacher – both non-Muslims. These incidents have given rise to tension and fear and also exposed Pakistan’s game plan to drag the youth of Kashmir into violence, something that the intelligence agencies have also revealed.
They said these killings are part of a conspiracy to create a gap between Muslims and non-Muslims.

Prominent Indian scholars and intellectuals have condemned the incident. They are unanimous in their opinion that Islam does not permit killing any innocent person.

Famous scholar Maulana Mufti Mukarram Ahmed condemned the attacks and while speaking to Awaz-the Voice, said that many conspiracies are going on in Kashmir. “Kashmiris have to be very careful. Mischievous and destructive elements are hell-bent upon discrediting Kashmiris. The loss of human life cannot be justified on any grounds.”

Maulana Zaheer Abbas Rizvi told Awaz-the Voice that such incidents should be strongly condemned. “Islam does not allow playing with human life under the garb of terrorism. Kashmir is famous for its Kashmiriyat, the Hindu-Muslim unity.”

He further said that in fact, Pakistan has been trying to keep terrorism alive in Kashmir for the last two decades. He asked Pakistan to instead solve its problems and not create problems for Indian Muslims.

Maulana Zaheer Abbas Rizvi said that Islam gives the highest place to human life. “We (Muslims) stand with those who lost their lives in Kashmir. Our full sympathy is with the exploited. Kashmiris must beware of conspiracies, as these attacks are an attempt to destroy Valley's communal harmony,” he said.

Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahli, a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and Imam of Lucknow Idgah, said that the recent incidents of terrorism in Kashmir should be condemned as there can be no justification for terrorism. "We stand for peace," he said.

“Negotiation is the solution to every problem in the world. My request to the public is that the solution to every problem be sought on the table and the path of violence be shunned.”

Mufti Manzoor Zia, head of the International Sufi Caravan and a leading Islamic scholar, also condemned these killings. He said that this is a Pakistani conspiracy to spoil the social atmosphere in Kashmir and to discredit the new generation of Kashmiris.

Mufti Zia condemned the separatists and said they are silently supporting terrorist activities. "In today's Kashmir people want to usher in a new era of development. As the new generation of Kashmiris is involved in this movement, the acts of terror are a conspiracy to derail their growth."

He said in this new era fresh avenues were opening for the youth and the nefarious elements want to scuttle these.

The government believes that Pakistani agencies are using ordinary youth in the Kashmir Valley to kill people. After committing the crime, the killers go into their normal routine without arousing suspicion. In these circumstances, they often escape getting notices by the security agencies. They are called 'hybrid terrorists.'

Speaking to Awaz-The Voice, Professor Akhtarul Wase, an Islamic studies expert said that Pakistan doesn’t realize that the changing situation in Kashmir rapidly. It’s because of the machinations of Pakistan that lives are being lost in Kashmir.

referring to M L Bindroo, a pharmacy owner who had never left Kashmir, he said such people promoted Kashmiriyat. Now if someone is killing a businessman and a school principal, it means that he wants to sever the bonds of Kashmiris.

Prof. Akhtarul Wase said that Pakistan's all focus is on Kashmiris, but its interference in Kashmir is creating a toxic environment for Muslims of India. “This is dirty politics and a Pakistani conspiracy to spil the peace in Jammu and Kashmir.”

It is noteworthy that the DGP of Jammu and Kashmir Dilbag Singh has said that such incidents are a conspiracy to discredit the local Muslims. Unarmed civilians are being killed in Kashmir in a conspiracy to spoil communal harmony. It shows the frustration of the terrorists.

Dewan Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan, Spiritual Head and Sajjadanashin of Dargah Khwaja Garib Nawaz, Ajmer, has strongly condemned the targeted killings of non-Muslims in J&K by the "real enemies of Islam that are supported by the government and its agencies from across the border."

These terrorists wanted to derail the development projects in Jammu and Kashmir. “Time has come for us to eliminate all the remaining terrorists from Kashmir and support the efforts of the Government of India to create a new Kashmir.”

“A marginal section of the people who took to terrorism due to their incorrect understanding of Islam cannot stop the large majority of the peace-loving people from transforming the region into a New Kashmir. The basic teaching of Sufism is Love for humanity. “As the Spiritual Head of the biggest Shrine of India, I am with the peace-loving people of J & k and the Government of India in these testing times.”
