The Global Sikhs humanitarian organization launched an emergency flood relief mission in Upper Assam which is worst affected by the recent floods caused by heavy rains while Bollywood actor Salman Khan has also announced a relief campaign to help the flood-affected people.

The Global Sikhs have cleaned up many community centers like temples, organised community kitches and are serving flood to the displaced people in the flood affected areas.

The Bhai of the Bollywood Salman Khan will deliver aid to the affected areas through his NGO, Being Human, and his fan network in Assam.

In the first phase of the campaign, being Human will distribute cooked food and clean drinking water to flood-affected villages.

In the second phase, Khan will provide emergency ration kits to disp comprising dry food, tarpaulins, medicines, and daily essentials, to the people diaplaced by floods.

Being Human will also rebuild flood-ravaged schools and local primary health centers. A team of Salman Khan's local fans is working day and night on the ground distributing relief materials.

Actress Alia Bhatt also expressed deep sorrow over the current situation in Assam. Through her official Instagram account, she made an emotional appeal to the people of the country to unite for Assam.

Alia wrote that Assam is currently going through its most difficult times. More than 60 people have lost their lives so far. Millions of citizens have been forced to seek shelter in relief camps, leaving them homeless.

Alia stated that displaced families have lost their life savings, homes, and livestock. She appealed to people across the country to donate generously to recognized relief agencies. A passionate animal and environmental activist, Alia also expressed deep concern over the flooding in Kaziranga National Park. The flooding in Kaziranga has endangered many rare one-horned rhinos and other wildlife. Alia stated that it is our moral responsibility to save these mute animals, along with humans.

Popular digital YouTuber Ajey Nagar, also known as CarryMinati, organized a special charity livestream on his YouTube channel to help the Assam flood victims.

His fans enthusiastically participated in the livestream, raising ₹ 11lakh through crowd funding online.
CarryMinati added ₹22 lakh to the fund.

Actress Bhumi Pednekar has released a video message urging the nation to support Assam. Bhumi said that the scenes in Assam are heartbreaking. Entire villages are submerged in water. Millions of people are forced to live under tarpaulins.

Bhumi recalled that when natural disasters struck Punjab, Jammu, Bihar, and Maharashtra in previous years, the entire country stood together. Similarly, Assam today needs the support of all of India. She urged people to send food, dry clothes, hygiene items, and medicines.

Bhumi said that those who are financially capable should come forward and donate for the rehabilitation of the victims.
