Major General APS Bal, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Counter-Insurgency Force (CIF) Delta, on Monday said that Operation Trashi-I stands as a textbook example of perseverance, clarity of thought, meticulous planning and the relentless efforts of Indian security forces in counter-terror operations.
Addressing a press conference, Maj Gen Bal said the operation highlighted seamless coordination across all levels—from troops on the ground to senior leadership, including ADGs, IGs, the DGP and the Army Commander.
“This recently concluded operation is a perfect example of an integrated approach and coordination among all forces and agencies involved. Everyone contributed decisively to its success,” he said.
He added that the operation exposed an extensive support system aiding terrorists, noting that the infrastructure and logistics sustaining hideouts could not have existed without local assistance. Without naming individuals, he said police authorities possess the necessary information and would take appropriate action.
Maj Gen Bal emphasised that the operation was executed in a calm, collective and collaborative manner, resulting in the elimination of terrorists without any casualties among troops, except for the Army dog Tyson, who initiated the operation.
He further stated that counter-terror operations would continue unabated, adding that security forces neutralised six Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists in February alone, including in Udampur and Kishtwar.
Meanwhile, the White Knight Corps said in a post on X that joint high-altitude operations spanning 326 days were carried out in the Kishtwar region under extremely harsh weather and terrain conditions.
Troops of the White Knight Corps, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force, supported by a robust intelligence grid, successfully eliminated all seven terrorists in the Chatroo area.
The Army said advanced technology, including FPV drones, satellite imagery, RPAs/UAVs and modern communication systems, played a crucial role in the operation, which dealt a significant blow to terror infrastructure in the Jammu region.
