The Karnataka government marked the completion of three years in office with a large-scale state convention titled “Pragathiyatta Karnataka” in Tumakuru district on Tuesday, showcasing its welfare initiatives and development programmes.
During the event, the state’s Revenue Department launched an extensive land record verification campaign aimed at resolving long-pending land ownership issues and providing clear land titles to citizens.
Speaking to ANI, Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said the government was working to correct historical irregularities in land documentation and ensure legal clarity for landowners.
“We are trying to ensure that people have very clear records for their lands. We have identified historical problems created over the years and are attempting to resolve them while giving people complete rights over their properties,” he said.
The minister described the initiative as a commitment by the government to provide secure and transparent land ownership records to citizens. He added that the event was not merely a celebration of the Congress government’s three-year tenure, but also an opportunity to present its work before the people.
Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara said the government had already fulfilled a majority of the promises made during the 2023 Assembly elections.
“We promised many things to the people of Karnataka and have already delivered nearly three-fourths of them. There are still two more years left in our term,” he said.
Parameshwara highlighted the Revenue Department’s land record initiative as one of the administration’s flagship programmes, noting that more than 14 lakh people had been provided rights-related documentation at various stages.
Congress MLA and Kalyana Karnataka Regional Development Board chairman Ajay Singh claimed the Siddaramaiah-led government had successfully implemented all five of its major welfare guarantees.
“More than Rs 1.25 lakh crore has reached the last person in villages across the state. Our government delivers on its promises,” he said.
Ajay Singh also acknowledged ongoing discussions around a possible cabinet reshuffle, saying he was among those aspiring for a ministerial berth, but added that all party leaders would abide by the decision of the Congress high command.
The event also featured virtual inaugurations and foundation stone-laying ceremonies for several government department buildings across Tumakuru district.
