At least 27 flights operated by various airlines were cancelled at the Delhi airport on Thursday, while several others were delayed due to dense fog and a sharp drop in visibility, an airport official said.
“As of now, 27 flights — 16 departures and 11 arrivals — have been cancelled at Delhi Airport because of dense fog and low visibility,” a Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) official said.
In a passenger advisory issued earlier in the day, DIAL said flight operations were being conducted under CAT-III conditions owing to the prevailing weather, warning that this could lead to delays and disruptions.
“For CAT-III operations, both pilots and aircraft need to be specially equipped and compliant,” the advisory said.
