PM Modi greets Yogi Adityanath on birthday; UP CM cites guidance as inspiration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday wished Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath a happy birthday, praising his work for the state’s development and praying for his “long and healthy life.”

In a post on X, Modi said Yogi Adityanath’s work toward Uttar Pradesh’s progress is noteworthy and that he has consistently focused on improving people’s quality of life and ensuring all-round growth.

Responding to the prime minister, Yogi Adityanath thanked him for the “affectionate and heart-touching” wishes and said Modi’s guidance, trust and support are an inexhaustible source of inspiration and energy in the effort to build a “Developed Uttar Pradesh.”

World Environment Day programme and plantation campaign

On the occasion of his birthday, Yogi Adityanath also planted a sapling in Lucknow under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” initiative. Addressing the event, he extended greetings on World Environment Day and said the world is facing serious environmental challenges. He described the ongoing environmental changes as a “man-made disaster” and argued that the solution must also come from human action.

  • He urged citizens to participate in environmental protection efforts by planting trees.
  • Under the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, residents are encouraged to plant at least one tree in their mother’s name.
  • Yogi Adityanath said that about 242 crore saplings have been planted in Uttar Pradesh during his nine years in office.
  • He added that the Forest Department has prepared more than 50 crore saplings, and the current campaign is moving ahead with a target of planting 5 crore trees.

The event also involved school students and was presented as part of the state government’s broader afforestation and environmental awareness drive.
