Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday met and interacted with the family members of newly appointed BJP national president Nitin Nabin at the party headquarters in the national capital, shortly after he formally assumed office.
During the interaction, the Prime Minister also shared sweets with Nabin, marking the leadership transition. Several senior leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and JP Nadda, were present on the occasion.
Chief Ministers from BJP-ruled states, including Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Adityanath, Tripura’s Manik Saha, Delhi’s Rekha Gupta, Uttarakhand’s Pushkar Singh Dhami and Rajasthan’s Bhajan Lal Sharma, along with other party leaders, extended their congratulations to Nabin.
Addressing party leaders and workers after taking charge, Nabin said that he was not merely assuming an organisational role but accepting the ideology, traditions and responsibilities of the BJP’s nationalist movement. He expressed gratitude to senior leaders and Prime Minister Modi, noting the collective efforts of the country’s 140 crore citizens toward building a developed India.
“Today marks a moment of commitment for me. I am embracing the party’s ideology, its traditions and the responsibility that comes with leading a nationalist movement,” he said, thanking the Prime Minister for his guidance and support.

Nabin, a seasoned politician from Bihar, is a five-time member of the Bihar Legislative Assembly and has previously served as a Cabinet Minister handling portfolios such as Law, Urban Development and Housing. Born in Ranchi on May 23, 1980, he entered electoral politics at a young age and has played a key role in party organisation at both state and national levels, including assignments in Sikkim and Chhattisgarh.
