Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's uninterrupted tenure at the helm of the country has fundamentally transformed India's development landscape through decisive governance and large-scale implementation of reforms.

Modi on Wednesday became India's longest-serving elected Prime Minister, completing 4,399 consecutive days in office and surpassing the record set by the country's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.

Reacting to the milestone, Sawant praised the Prime Minister's leadership and highlighted several flagship initiatives launched during his tenure.

In a post on X, the Goa Chief Minister said that programmes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Digital India, the Goods and Services Tax (GST), Ayushman Bharat, Startup India and the push for world-class infrastructure had significantly altered the country's developmental journey.

"From Jan Dhan to Digital India, GST, Ayushman Bharat, Startup India and modern infrastructure, the last 4,399 days have redefined India's growth story through decisive leadership and effective delivery at scale," Sawant said.

He added that Modi's achievement of becoming the country's longest-serving elected Prime Minister symbolises continuity in governance, efficient execution of policies and an unwavering commitment towards the vision of a "Viksit Bharat" or developed India.
