Election Commission of India on Monday announced elections to 16 seats of the Maharashtra Legislative Council, with polling scheduled to take place on June 18.
According to the official notification, the last date for filing nomination papers is June 1, while candidates will have the option to withdraw their nominations until June 4.

The elections will determine representation in the upper house of the legislature in Maharashtra.
