Governor Ramen Deka, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and his cabinet colleagues welcomed Murmu at Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur, where she landed shortly after noon, a government official said.

The President left for Lok Bhavan, where she will release a commemorative coin in honour of Pujya Mata Hasi Devi Ji, he said.

She will later take part in 'Seva Samman Parv' and 'Yuva Prabodhan' on the occasion of the Nuakhai festival at Indoor Stadium, Raipur, he said.

The 'Muriya Darbar', regarded as a traditional tribal assembly or 'Aadim Jan Sansad' (primitive people's parliament), is organised as part of the Bastar Dussehra festival, officials said.

Security has been stepped up in Raipur and Bastar, and traffic has been diverted at several locations in these districts in view of the events.
