President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday conveyed warm wishes to the people of India on the eve of Christmas, the Rashtrapati Bhavan said in a statement.
In her message, the President greeted citizens across the country, particularly members of the Christian community, and wished them peace and happiness on the festive occasion.
Describing Christmas as a celebration marked by joy and goodwill, President Murmu said the festival reflects the ideals of love, compassion and selfless service. She noted that the life and sacrifice of Lord Jesus Christ continue to inspire humanity and remind people of the importance of caring for others.
The President said that the spirit of Christmas encourages society to uphold and strengthen values such as peace, harmony, equality and service to others. She added that the occasion serves as a reminder to walk the path shown by Jesus Christ and to work collectively towards building a more compassionate and harmonious society.
