President Murmu urges students to use education for upliftment of the underprivileged

President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday called upon students to use the knowledge and skills they have acquired to improve the lives of the underprivileged, saying education should become a tool for social transformation.

Addressing the first convocation ceremony of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh in Anantapur, the President reminded graduates that they carry an important responsibility towards society.

"You have the responsibility to give back to society. Let your learning become a source of strength for the underprivileged," Murmu said.

Describing a convocation as a significant milestone, she said it represents the successful completion of years of dedication, perseverance and hard work.

The President also expressed optimism about the future of the Central University of Andhra Pradesh, saying she was confident the institution would develop into a centre of academic excellence.
