Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday asserted that public confidence in the state government has been renewed following the NDA coalition’s efforts, reversing years of alleged dysfunction under the previous YSRCP administration.

During a review meeting with ministers, secretaries, and district collectors, Naidu assessed key governance indicators, including the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) performance, and Pattadari passbooks, and instructed officials to intensify efforts this year to sustain welfare, development, and public service delivery.

“Last year (2025), we achieved positive outcomes, met citizens’ expectations, and rebuilt trust in government systems that had suffered from years of dysfunction,” Naidu said.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, he noted that under ‘Talli ki Vandanam’, Rs 10,090 crore was deposited to the accounts of 67 lakh mothers of students, while the ‘Stree Shakti’ programme facilitated travel for 3.5 crore women at a cost of Rs 1,114 crore. Farmers benefited through ‘Annadata Sukhibhava’, receiving Rs 6,310 crore across 46 lakh accounts, and ‘Deepam 2.0’ distributed 2 crore cooking gas cylinders, spending Rs 2,684 crore.

Social pensions reached Rs 50,000 crore in just 18 months, and around 70 major schemes and projects were successfully implemented.

Naidu also pointed to key infrastructure projects such as Polavaram, Pattiseema, and Nallamala Sagar, which conserve water, supply Rayalaseema and Prakasam, and allow Telangana to efficiently utilise the remaining Godavari water.

He highlighted growth in both foreign and domestic investment, with the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) approving Rs 8.74 lakh crore worth of investments. Google is set to establish a USD 15 billion AI data centre, while the Quantum Valley foundations in Amaravati will be laid soon, with quantum computers expected to be operational within six months.
