Senior All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader SP Velumani on Saturday expressed confidence that the party would register a landslide victory in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, claiming it would win as many as 210 seats.
Addressing a press conference, Velumani said the AIADMK and its alliance partners were poised for a decisive mandate, adding that Edappadi K. Palaniswami would return as Chief Minister.
Invoking the legacy of party stalwarts M. G. Ramachandran and J. Jayalalithaa, he said the party has already announced candidates for most constituencies, with names for Chennai and alliance partners to be declared soon.
Highlighting Coimbatore as an AIADMK stronghold, Velumani pointed to key infrastructure projects such as the Avinashi flyover, Athikadavu-Avinashi drinking water scheme, and airport expansion as achievements under previous AIADMK governments.
He also targeted the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, alleging governance failures and claiming that issues like public safety and taxation would influence voters.
