Most parts of Rajasthan are experiencing intense cold, with night temperatures dipping below 10°C and four locations recording sub-5°C lows. Dungarpur was the coldest at 3°C, followed by Sirohi (4.1°C), Mount Abu (4.4°C), and Pali (4.7°C). Jaipur recorded 6.8°C and witnessed dense fog for the first time this season.
Owing to the extreme cold and dense fog, winter vacations have been extended for schools, particularly primary classes, in over a dozen districts including Jaipur, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Sikar. People were seen lighting bonfires, while authorities set up night shelters in several cities.
