Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang greeted healthcare professionals on Doctors' Day on Wednesday, praising their unwavering commitment to public service and their pivotal role in strengthening the state's healthcare system.
In a social media post, Tamang paid tributes to the medical fraternity for their compassion, dedication and tireless efforts in safeguarding the health and wellbeing of the people.
"On the solemn occasion of National Doctors Day 2026, I extend my heartfelt greetings and deepest gratitude to all doctors and healthcare professionals serving the people of Sikkim.
"Today, we recognise and celebrate the compassion, dedication and unwavering commitment of our medical fraternity, whose service goes far beyond the boundaries of their profession," he wrote.
Highlighting the steady progress of Sikkim's healthcare sector, the chief minister said the state's achievements have been driven by the relentless efforts of doctors, nurses and healthcare workers.
He noted that their contributions have significantly improved healthcare delivery, expanded access to medical services and helped build a stronger and more responsive public health system.
