Two injured golden jackals rescued from parts of Raigad have been shifted to a specialised facility in Mumbai for treatment and rehabilitation, officials said on Saturday.
The animals are undergoing care at the Resqink Association for Wildlife Welfare (RAWW), where treatment has begun. Some medical test reports are awaited to assess their condition and determine the course of advanced care, founder-president Pawan Sharma said.
“The jackals were rescued on Friday from Karnala and the JNPT area with support from the forest department, local animal welfare groups and activists,” Sharma added. They are being treated by veterinarians Priti Sathe and Kirti Sathe at RAWW.
