The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra has installed informational inscriptions in Hindi and English across the Ram Temple complex to educate visitors about the historical and spiritual significance of ancient monuments linked to the Ramayana.

An introductory inscription has been placed at Angad Tila, while another titled “Sacred Squirrel” explains the significance of the squirrel statue located atop the mound, associated with the construction of the Ram Setu during Lord Ram’s journey to Lanka.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Media Coordinator Sharad Sharma said that all important locations within the complex connected to the Ramayana period have been formally identified, either as idols or landmark sites. He added that gates within the complex have been named after revered Hindu saints.

“Figures like the squirrel that helped in the bridge construction, Maharaja Jatayu who sacrificed his life, and other key characters mentioned in the Ramayana have been given proper recognition so that devotees can understand their role and historical importance,” Sharma told ANI. Gates have also been named after saints such as Jagatguru Shankaracharya and Jagatguru Ramanandacharya, he added.

Sharma further said that efforts are underway to develop a Panchvati within the complex to enhance its spiritual ambience. “The aim is to present the temple not just as a structure, but as a sacred space of peace, beauty, and worship,” he said.

Ayodhya saint Sita Ram Das Ji Maharaj welcomed the initiative, stating that the nameplates would help devotees connect more deeply with Sanatan culture. “By learning about the devotion and sacrifices of figures like Jatayu, Hanuman, Sugreeva, Vibhishan, Jambavan, and the sacred squirrel, devotees can imbibe these values in their own lives,” he said.
