Master Hiralal of Akodia, a small town in Madhya Pradesh’s Shajapur district, could have never imagined that his sincere work will bring him laurels to the level that an ambassador would come to felicitate him and speak of his great work.

Teacher Hiralal was honoured by the ambassador of Afghanistan to India Farid Mamundzay for educating students of Afghan origin whose families had settled here centuries ago.

This little Afghanistan in the heart of India has Pushto-speaking people who have continued their traditions and preserved their culture even after five generations of living in India.

Mamundzay, during his recent visit to Bhopal and Akodia, felicitated Master Hiralal and called him “a highly respected teacher who, for 40 years has not only been a guide to many Afghan-Indian students but has emerged as their pillar of strength.”

Mamundzay posted his pictures on social media.

Mamundzay told the locals ”It is noteworthy that the Pashtoons of Akodia region  have been living in this area for centuries, still have kept their language, clothes and culture in their place, even their fourth and fifth generation who speak fluent Pashto with Afghanistan.”
