Rajnath Singh on Tuesday expressed confidence that the new NDA government in Assam, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, would take the state to new milestones of growth, inclusive development, and prosperity.
Singh, who attended Sarma’s swearing-in ceremony in Guwahati, conveyed his best wishes for what he described as a successful, impactful, and transformative new term in office.
In a post on social media, the defence minister said he was confident that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sarma’s leadership, Assam would continue to progress and achieve new benchmarks in development and prosperity.
Responding to the message, Sarma thanked Singh for his wishes and said that with Modi’s guidance and support, the NDA government would continue working toward building a stronger and brighter future for Assam.
Earlier in the day, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath of office and secrecy to Sarma and members of his new council of ministers.

Alongside the chief minister, four legislators also took oath as ministers—Rameswar Teli and Ajanta Neog from the Bharatiya Janata Party, Atul Bora of the Asom Gana Parishad, and Charan Boro of the Bodoland People's Front.
