The Imams of many mosques across the country o Friday condemned the Udaipur incident in which two Muslims had slaughtered a Tailor for “dishonouring the Prophet.” In their Friday sermons, they called it a gruesome act against the principles of Islam. "Under no circumstance, a human has the right to take the law into his hands.'

Addressing the Friday congregation in different mosques, the Imams said, “The job of giving punishment to the violators of law can only be done by various institutions; if everyone decides to be a judge and executioner, the society and the system will slip into a chaos."

The Imams who gave this sermon are: Mufti Ashfaq Hussain Qadri of Qadri Masjid Shastri Park Delhi, Mufti Bilal Nizami of Sunni Jama Masjid, Ratlam (MP), Mufti Shamsuddin Barkati of Makrana (Rajasthan), Maulana Shahid Misbahi of Hamirpur,(UP),  Maulana Badruddin Misbahi Khateeb and Maulana Said of Imam Masjid, Aala Hazrat Nizamia Lucknow, Muhammad Qadri, Maulana Ansar Faizi of Ajmer (Rajasthan), Qari Hanif (Moradabad), Maulana Sakhi (Jammu), Maulana Mazhar Imam (West Bengal), Maulana Abdul Jalil Nizami (Pilibhit), Maulana Sameer Ahmed (Rampur), Maulana Qari Jamal, Maulana Abrar in (Bhagalpur), Maulana Mustafa Raza (Nagpur) and Maulana Tanveer Ahmed of Aman Shaheed Jama Masjid and Maulana Musharraf in (Delhi).

These Imams said Islam condemns violence and promotes non-violence, tolerance and harmony, and respect for one another. "Islam specifically says that Allah hates attackers and calls on its followers to use forgiveness and promote tolerance; peace, mutual respect, and trust to have a meaningful relationship with people of other faiths.

The Imams said that the Prophet Muhammad said: "Do you know what is better than charity, fasting, and prayer? It is to maintain peace and good relations between people because conflict and bad feelings destroy mankind."

According to the Quran, peace can be achieved only by peaceful means. Islam prohibits, the killing of innocent people and violent protests.

They said as per Islam, "One must not kill anyone, Allah has given this holy life." Islam strictly forbids killing and persecution of any innocent person.

However, many terrorist organizations and extremist organizations have used the name of Islam to advance their agenda. Terrorism has been adopted by various organizations to further their own goals, causes, or ideologies. Such organizations are defaming Islam. There is no religious justification for the attacks of such organizations on innocent people all over the world. All this is strictly prohibited in Islam.

The Imams asked the youth not to believe all that comes on social media. They must instead check and recheck the facts. Imams said that today social media has proved to be a boon for the perpetrators of violence as this platform is being used to spread fake news and misinformation.

They told the Congregations that these days nefarious elements were making efforts to incite the sentiments of the people by feeding wrong information on social media.
The clerics appealed to the people, especially the youth, not to blindly follow and share social media posts and videos. “Do not share any sensational material, because fundamentalists are enemies of the country and peace, they can spread any false and misleading information that can spread like wildfire.
