For young batter Yash Dhull, the past year has been a defining journey of resilience and renewed perspective. After undergoing heart surgery, the 22-year-old has returned to competitive cricket with performances that reflect both composure and character.

Dhull made a strong comeback in the Ranji Trophy 2024–25 season, finishing as Delhi’s second-highest run-scorer. He amassed 444 runs in 10 innings at an average of 49.33, carrying that momentum into the recently concluded domestic season.

Recalling the surgery, Dhull told ANI that the decision was immediate. “Health comes first. I didn’t think much—within two days I had the surgery. After a month of bed rest, I began preparing for the Ranji Trophy,” he said, adding that the setback helped him better understand life and himself.

Earlier this year, Dhull impressed in the Delhi Premier League, emerging as one of the standout performers for Central Delhi Kings. He also carried his form into the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Despite the strong run, Dhull went unsold in the Indian Premier League 2026 season. Unfazed, the Under-19 World Cup-winning captain said opportunities come naturally with hard work and performance.

“Since the surgery, I’ve just been enjoying my cricket and focusing on what’s in front of me. I’ll perform in the opportunities I get; the rest is fate,” he said.
