Canada on Wednesday named its 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka from February, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The tournament will mark Canada’s maiden appearance at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Canada secured qualification for the global event by winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Regional Final against Bermuda in June 2025. In the final, Canada chased down a target of 132 runs in 15.4 overs to register a six-wicket victory.

During the regional qualifiers, Canada’s bowling attack was led by off-spinner Shivam Sharma, who picked up 11 wickets at an economy rate of 7.81, and left-arm pacer Kaleem Sana, who claimed 10 wickets at an economy of 7.5. The duo will be key figures for the side in the upcoming tournament.

On the batting front, Canada will rely on attacking batter Nicholas Kirton, with additional firepower expected from left-hander Yuvraj Samra, who boasts a strike rate of 160.72.

Canada have been placed in Group D alongside South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates. They will begin their campaign against South Africa in Ahmedabad on February 9.
