Opener Wasim Iqbal struck a fluent 66 off 51 balls as India B registered an emphatic 83-run win over India A in the opening match of the three-game Physical Disability T20 Series at the Wankhede Stadium here.
After electing to field, India A found it difficult to contain the India B batters, with Iqbal anchoring the innings. He added 77 runs for the second wicket with Vikrant Keni before wickets fell at regular intervals. Iqbal’s knock included five fours and seven sixes.
GS Shiva also contributed with a solid 41 as India B posted 170 for nine in the allotted 20 overs. For India A, Jeetendra VN was the most successful bowler, picking up two wickets for 23 runs.
In reply, India A never recovered from early setbacks and were bowled out for 87 in 16.5 overs. Akash Patil, batting at number eight, top-scored with 30. Right-arm medium pacer Ganesh Pisal starred with the ball for India B, claiming four wickets for 25 runs.
The remaining two matches of the series will be played on December 17 and 18 as part of preparations for upcoming international assignments.
