A total of seven athletes from the Vijayi Bharat Foundation (VBF) have secured places in the 24-member Indian contingent for the Asian Senior Fencing Championships 2026, which will be held in New Delhi from June 19 to 24.

The selected VBF fencers include four women and three men, reflecting the foundation’s growing contribution to Indian fencing across multiple disciplines.

The VBF athletes chosen for the national team are:

  • Mitva Chaudhari – Women’s Epee
  • R.S. Sherjin – Men’s Epee
  • Naorem Mina Devi – Women’s Foil
  • Kanupriya – Women’s Foil
  • Aditya – Men’s Foil
  • Shreya Gupta – Women’s Sabre
  • Karan Singh – Men’s Sabre

Their inclusion in the national squad underlines the increasing role played by the Vijayi Bharat Foundation in nurturing competitive fencing talent in the country.

All seven athletes train at the foundation’s High-Performance Centre in Ahmedabad, which has steadily developed into a major training base for elite fencers preparing for international competition.

The upcoming continental championship carries added significance, as performances at the event will play an important role in determining qualification opportunities for the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, scheduled later this year.
