Angkrish Raghuvanshi of Kolkata Knight Riders has been fined 20 per cent of his match fee for an emotional outburst after being dismissed for obstructing the field during his side’s Indian Premier League match against Lucknow Super Giants.
KKR went on to win the match through a Super Over on Sunday night.
According to an IPL statement, Raghuvanshi was also handed one demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the league’s Code of Conduct for Players and Team Officials.
He was found guilty under Article 2.2 of the code, which relates to abuse of cricket equipment, clothing, ground equipment or fixtures during a match.
The incident took place in the fifth over when, after being given out for obstructing the field, Raghuvanshi struck the boundary cushion with his bat in an aggressive manner and later threw his helmet into the dugout.

The batter admitted the offence and accepted the sanction imposed by the match referee.
