Yogi Adityanath on Saturday paid tribute to former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna on his birth anniversary and said the veteran leader’s vision of development is now being implemented on the ground.

Adityanath offered floral tributes at Bahuguna’s statue in Lucknow in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and other dignitaries.

In a post on X, the chief minister described Bahuguna as an important pillar of Indian politics and said his contributions as Uttar Pradesh chief minister and in several Union ministries continue to inspire public life even today.

He added that the development-oriented vision Bahuguna had championed was now taking shape through current governance efforts.

Bahuguna was born on April 25, 1919, in Pauri Garhwal. He became chief minister of Uttar Pradesh in November 1973, leading a Congress government, and remained in office until November 1975.
