The sacred portals of Badrinath Temple reopened for devotees on Thursday after a six-month winter closure, marking the full opening of the annual Char Dham Yatra.
The temple gates were opened at 6:15 am following traditional Vedic rituals and prayers. The first puja after reopening was performed in the name of Narendra Modi.
Thousands Attend Ceremony
Nearly 15,000 pilgrims from across India and abroad attended the reopening ceremony.
Pushkar Singh Dhami and Mahendra Bhatt were present and interacted with pilgrims regarding arrangements for the yatra.
Temple Decorated, Festive Atmosphere
Located between the Nar Mountain and Narayan Mountain ranges, the shrine was decorated with tons of flowers.
The occasion featured drumbeats, army bands and chants of “Jai Badri Vishal.” Women from Mana and Bamni villages performed the traditional Jhumailo dance in the temple courtyard.
