Iran has confirmed that a 10-member delegation will reach Islamabad on Thursday to take part in key talks aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict with the United States and Israel.

The negotiations, scheduled for Friday, come shortly after a two-week ceasefire proposal announced by US President Donald Trump, following mediation efforts by Pakistan.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited delegations from both countries to continue discussions and work towards a comprehensive agreement to end hostilities.

Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, confirmed the visit, though he acknowledged concerns within Iran over alleged ceasefire violations. He said the delegation would still participate in the talks based on a set of proposals put forward by Tehran.

The US delegation, led by Vice President JD Vance, is also expected to attend the discussions, though details regarding its arrival remain unclear.

Diplomatic engagement between the two sides has intensified in recent days. Shehbaz Sharif held talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, while Pakistan’s military chief Asim Munir spoke with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Moghadam said Araghchi appreciated Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue and promoting peace in the region.

However, the ceasefire remains fragile amid reports of continued Israeli strikes in Lebanon, which have raised concerns about potential escalation and could impact the outcome of the upcoming negotiations.
