Early morning tremors jolt India, eight persons dead in Nepal

Early morning tremors woke up people in India as an earthquake of 6.3 magnitudes hit Nepal on Wednesday at 2 am. Tremors were felt in North India as well. The jolts made people leave their houses, especially those living in high-rise buildings.  

A house is reported to have collapsed in Nepal's Dhoti district late last night due to the tremors of the earthquake. At 2:12 PM, a powerful earthquake measuring 6.6 Richter scale occurred in the area of ​​Dhoti, killing 6 people and injuring 5 people.

Among the dead are 3 members of the same family. According to village president Ramprasad Upadhyay, the deceased include Bhagwati Bohra, Sita Bohra, Harak Bohra, Prem Bohra, Tulsi Bohra and Dhansari Bohra of East Choki Gaupalika-3, Thana Gaon.

Those injured in the earthquake have been admitted to the hospital. Rescue team including Nepalese army, armed police force has reached for relief and rescue work.

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale struck Nepal's extreme western Deepyal district at around 9 pm last night.

After the 6.6 magnitude earthquake late at night, the series of earthquakes continues. Due to the earthquake, the people of Kasapada and adjoining areas are forced to spend the night in the open fields.
