Awaz-e-Khwateen, a Delhi-based NGO on women, on Tuesday organised a virtual felicitation ceremony for winners of its reel-making competition themed “Women’s Rights Are Human Rights.”
The event celebrated creativity, commitment and collective effort, while underscoring the organisation’s continued focus on creating inclusive platforms for women’s voices.
Held in the online mode, the ceremony brought together participants, winners, community members and supporters from across the country. The gathering served as a moment of recognition for everyone who contributed to the initiative, which aimed to raise awareness on women’s rights through short-form digital storytelling. Organisers said the strong participation reflected growing engagement among young women in using creative media to highlight social issues.

All participants in the competition were felicitated with certificates of appreciation, acknowledging their effort and active engagement. Winners were specially honoured for their exceptional performances and dedication, and were presented with certificates along with cash prizes.
Addressing the gathering, members of the Awaz-e-Khwateen board emphasised that the initiative was as much about participation as it was about recognition. Dr. Babli Parveen, Honorary Convenor of Awaz-e-Khwateen, said that the felicitation ceremony was intended to acknowledge courage, consistency and community spirit. “The spirit of participation is as important as winning. Today’s felicitation is about recognising courage, consistency and community,” she said, adding that platforms like these help young women express themselves confidently and responsibly.
According to organisers, Yusra and Tuba, a total of 150 participants from five different states took part in the competition. Each participant received a certificate of participation in recognition of their effort, creativity and commitment to the theme. The wide geographic spread of entries highlighted the reach of the initiative and the resonance of the message across regions.
The winners were selected based on creativity, clarity of message and impact. The first position was secured by Saniya Fatima from Jamia Fatima Ghazalia, Delhi, who was awarded a cash prize of ₹5,000. The second position went to Jannat Parveen from Garib Nawaz, Delhi, who received ₹3,000. The third position was jointly secured by Lavisha Sylva, an accountant from West Bengal, and Sidra Nazim from Olividya Girls Academy, Deoband. Both were awarded ₹2,000 each.

Yusra and Tuba further noted that the diversity of winners reflected the inclusive nature of the competition, with participants from different educational, professional and regional backgrounds bringing unique perspectives to the theme. Several speakers highlighted that digital platforms such as reels offer young women an accessible medium to articulate their views and engage wider audiences.
The event was also graced by members of Awaz the Voice, including Mr. Atir Khan, Editor-in-Chief, along with Mrs. Asha Khosa, Mr. C.P. Singh and other team members. Speakers commended the participants for using creative expression to advance conversations on women’s rights and social equity.
Concluding the ceremony, organisers reiterated Awaz-e-Khwateen’s commitment to nurturing inclusive spaces where voices are heard and talents are recognised. Participants were encouraged to continue using creative platforms to raise awareness and engage constructively on social issues. The organisation said it plans to organise more such initiatives in the future to promote dialogue, participation and collective growth.
