A visually challenged couple from the Habibnagar area of Nizamabad celebrated their first wedding anniversary with orphans and disabled children, setting an example for others.

Mohammad Haji and Hamira Shirin, both visually challenged, got married a year ago. Mohammad Haji is a teacher and he works as a home teacher in the same society where he lives.

Though, he can’t see Mohammad Haji never felt he was weaker or inferior to anyone. Mohammad Haji and Humaira Shirin celebrated their first wedding anniversary with the orphans, poor and disabled children of Bal Sadan in Subhash Nagar, Nizamabad. They arranged a sumptuous meal for the children.

Mohammad Haji is a graduate of Dr BR Ambedkar University, Telangana. He studied in Maharashtra till Intermediate.

Having seen hard days in life, the Haji and Humaira say they are aware of the difficulties of others and therefore have decided to help the poor and the needy.

Mohammad Haji teaches mathematics and English to blind children. Apart from teaching the subjects, he encourages them in all possible ways to grow as a confident human being. He also helps the poor and the needy financially.

Mohammad Haji said that all human beings, including blind children, work hard to fulfil the demands of life. However, the world only notices the hardships of physically challenged persons and not of normal persons.

The cardinal rule in Haji’s life is: one should never use one’s disability as an excuse for anything; also one should never allow the feeling of inferiority to grow inside.

He said everyone should first set a goal in life, follow it by working hard and achieve it. “Success and failure are in the hands of Allah but we must continue to struggle to achieve the targets,” he says.

Mohammad Haji says today people earn millions and they can only focus only on their personal and family needs; there is no urge to help the poor, needy and helpless people. Otherwise, also, the aid of the governments does not reach all the needy and deserving people in society.

In these circumstances, all the members of society should help the poor according to their ability. The existing problems could be solved to a large extent. Mohammad Haji said that he was helped by some philanthropists.

It’s because of their timely help that today, he is in a position to help others.  H can help the poor with peace of mind.

He says he and his wife felt so happy to be with the children who laughed and enjoyed the meal with them.
