Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali has said there is no reason for the Indian Muslims to be happy about developments in Afghanistan or have a separate narrative on it. The top Indian cleric said the issue is in the domain of the government that alone can make a policy to defend the country’s interests in the situation emerging in Afghanistan.

Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali, a member of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board said while speaking with Awaz-the voice.

He said the return of the Taliban to Afghanistan has created unrest and chaos in that country and also caused tension in the neighbouring countries and the region. Political and diplomatic confusion are galore and some people are happy to see America defeated.

He said that the expression of happiness by some Muslims and leaders in India after the transfer of power in Afghanistan reflects their negative thinking.

Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali said that nobody should use religion to justify oppression and barbarism in the name of Islam. Islam has always stood for protecting the rights of women, children, old and young. .

He said It is wrong to oppress women in Islam. In fact, Islam prohibits fighters to attack children, women, and the elderly in the event of a war. Islam instructs Muslims to treat non-Muslims well.

Alluding to some people making comments on Afghanistan, he said some people were using unacceptable terms that will not benefit anyone. “This amounts to treason,” he added.

Maulana Khalid Rashid says that this problem is between Afghanistan and America and it should not be brought into the domestic narrative of India.

He added the Muslims of India should avoid linking themselves with the situation obtaining in another country.

Why are Indian Muslims wanting to get embroiled in the issues of another country? He asked why do Muslims get involved in the affairs of happenings in another country.

He advised people that foreign affairs are political and diplomatic matters that are handled by the government. Sadly, if anything happens in the world, do you become a part of it?

Following the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan, pro-Taliban statements have surfaced on social media in India, leading to even some arrests.

In response, leaders of hardline Hindu organizations lodged FIRs against several people.

Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mohalla said, “The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has already clarified its position in this regard and we have no reaction to what anyone has said. But my personal opinion is that the policy of the Indian government towards Afghanistan will be that of all Indian citizen
