Indian Capital New Delhi was placed under the heaviest security cover in view of the planned tractor rallies by the farmers in protest against the three agricultural laws passed by the Parliament recently that seek to free the market of the middle-man and allow farmers to sell their produce freely.
Though the police have granted permission for three rallies on the Eastern, Southern and the Northern flanks of the metroipolis, they are on high alert in view of apprehensions of disturbances by the vested interests. Police had claimed some 300 soicial media accounts have been operating out of Pakistan to streer opinion and action of the farmers.
The CRPF and Police are manning the entry points to the proposed tractor march at Kundli, Ghazipur and Gurugram.
Commuteers had to negotiate their way through diversions as the police had closed some of the routes and barricaded others.
Tractors with banners and farmers were seen entering the city from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in the night.
