The Rashmi Group has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Telangana government, committing an investment of Rs 12,500 crore that is expected to create around 12,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the state.

The agreement was formalised after meetings between Rashmi Group promoter Sajjan Kumar Patwari, director Sanjib Kumar Patwari and the Telangana delegation on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum annual meeting. During the interaction, the company conveyed its plans to establish a steel manufacturing facility in Telangana.

Founded in 1966, the industrial conglomerate has a strong global footprint, exporting products to more than 40 countries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. The group is particularly known worldwide for its ductile iron pipes, which are widely used in water supply and sanitation infrastructure projects.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy lauded IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu for facilitating the investment and strengthening the state’s industrial prospects.

Discussions during the meeting also covered potential collaboration in emerging areas such as green manufacturing practices and the circular economy. The company expressed interest in working with the state government on energy-efficient steel production and sustainability-focused initiatives aligned with Telangana’s long-term development goals.

Separately, global brewing major AB InBev announced plans to make a substantial investment to expand its existing operations in Telangana. The announcement followed a meeting between the Telangana delegation, led by Chief Minister Reddy, and AB InBev’s Chief Legal and Corporate Affairs Officer John Blood at the WEF 2026 in Davos.

AB InBev currently operates two manufacturing facilities in the state, employs around 600 people and has a presence in more than 50 countries worldwide.
