The National Testing Agency has released an advisory detailing the dress code and permitted items for candidates appearing in the Common University Entrance Test, scheduled to be held from May 11 to May 31 in India and across 15 overseas cities.
According to the advisory issued on Thursday, the undergraduate entrance examination will be conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode.
The agency said candidates will be permitted to carry transparent water bottles inside examination centres. Those wearing articles of faith will also be allowed entry, provided they report well in advance to facilitate security checks and frisking.
The NTA specifically clarified that religious threads such as kalava will be permitted during the examination.
Candidates have been advised to wear light-coloured clothing, preferably white or other light shades. Those opting for woollen garments due to weather conditions have been asked to reach the centre early to complete additional screening procedures.
Regarding footwear, the agency has recommended simple shoes, slippers or low-heeled footwear for smoother security clearance.
