It may be curtains on theT20 world cup with England lifting the Cup for the second time but the aftermath of the final match played between Pakistan and England has continued to raise controversy on Twitter.

In a tug-of-war, Pakistan-born Indian singer Adnan Sami's tweet saying,"The better team won! Congratulations #England…It’s just a game. A great lesson not to prematurely expand chests by rhetorics towards other teams defeats!.." raised a strom in Pakistan and many people trolled Sami on social media.

The tweet came in response to India vs England semi-final where the latter defeated the former by 10 wickets.

The innocuous comment took a serious turn when a twitter user stated, "Interesting to see Muslims proving their loyalties..", to which Adnan Sami replied by saying, "We have loyalty to ONE nation - “INDIA”...

The conversation further extented when another user said, "Quaid e Azam was spot on: “They will spend rest of the lives trying to prove loyalty to Hindus”, to which Adnan replied, "But he failed to foresee that Pak will spend the rest of its life trying to shine the shoes of either USA, CHINA, SAUDI or ANYONE who would give them CHARITY.."

For the unversed Adnan Sami has both Pakistani and Indian roots as his father was a Pashtun and his mother a Kashmiri, while Adnan was born and brought up in the United Kingdom. He was bestowed Indian citizenship in 2016.

He was later conferred with India's highest civilian award, the Padma Shri.

In his latest tweets he cleared that he has no contempt against Pak or its citizens but only those who has treated him badly
