Acclaimed actor Fahadh Faasil is set to lead two upcoming Malayalam films that will be jointly produced by Panorama Studios and filmmaker-producer Jacob Babu.

The two projects are currently in the development stage and are expected to hit theatres next year, according to an announcement made by the producers on Wednesday.

While details regarding the directors, supporting cast and technical teams are being kept under wraps, the makers described the films as ambitious ventures aimed at strengthening Malayalam cinema’s presence among wider audiences.

Faasil, whose body of work includes acclaimed films such as Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Kumbalangi Nights, Joji, Malik and Aavesham, said the narratives were the primary reason he agreed to come on board.

According to the actor, the projects offer strong storytelling and a creative vision that appealed to him as a performer. He added that his discussions with Jacob Babu and the Panorama Studios team had been encouraging and that he looked forward to bringing the films to audiences.

Faasil also noted that although the projects are still at an early stage, both carry significant potential and are being developed with next year’s release target in mind.

Panorama Studios founder Kumar Mangat Pathak said the company’s growing involvement in Malayalam cinema had reinforced its confidence in the region’s storytelling talent.

He described Jacob Babu as a valuable collaborator with a strong understanding of the Malayalam film industry and said having Fahadh Faasil headline both projects added to the excitement surrounding the venture.

Jacob Babu, who leads Maxlab Cinemas & Entertainments and has been associated with several Malayalam productions as a producer, distributor and exhibitor, said the partnership is rooted in a shared commitment to creating meaningful as well as commercially appealing cinema.

He added that Faasil’s involvement brings added creative strength to the projects, describing him as an actor known for consistently taking on challenging and unconventional roles.
