Actor Kunal Kemmu will reprise his role as Gaurav Gehlot as Netflix has officially renewed its family drama Single Papa for a second season.

The series, which centres on the life of a single father and his family, garnered a positive response from audiences following its debut, prompting the streaming platform to greenlight another season.

Netflix announced the renewal on Monday through its official Instagram handle, sharing a poster from the show along with a caption confirming the return.

“Badhai ho, season 2 hone wala hai!
Watch Single Papa: Season 2, coming soon, only on Netflix,” the post read.

Kemmu portrays Gaurav Gehlot, a single parent navigating the challenges of raising a child while managing family expectations and everyday responsibilities. The show struck a chord with viewers for its relatable narrative and emphasis on familial relationships.

The series also received appreciation for its sensitive depiction of adoption. India’s Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) acknowledged Single Papa for presenting the adoption process in a responsible and informed manner.

In addition to Kemmu, the cast includes Prajakta Koli, Manoj Pahwa, Ayesha Raza, Neha Dhupia, Suhail Nayyar, Dayanand Shetty, Aisha Ahmed and Isha Talwar, whose performances contributed to the warmth and depth of the family-driven storyline.

The upcoming season is expected to take the Gehlot family’s journey forward, introducing new developments and challenges as Gaurav continues to grow into his role as a father.

Single Papa has been created by Ishita Moitra and Neeraj Udhwani and is produced by Juggernaut Productions. Shashank Khaitan serves as the executive producer, while direction duties are shared by Khaitan, Hitesh Kewalya and Neeraj Udhwani.

Netflix has not yet announced the release date for the second season.
