Filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta, known for directing Raid 2, has been signed on to helm a major theatrical feature for Junglee Pictures, the studio announced on Monday.
The untitled project has completed its scripting stage, with casting expected to commence soon. The film is being positioned as a large-scale theatrical release and is expected to carry Gupta’s signature style of intense, reality-rooted storytelling.
Speaking about the collaboration, Gupta said he has always been inclined towards narratives that are grounded yet capable of resonating with audiences on a broader canvas. He described the upcoming film as a powerful, immersive, and engaging cinematic experience, adding that Junglee Pictures’ reputation for supporting strong, content-driven cinema made the partnership a natural fit.
“Myra Karn, the producing partner on the project, said the collaboration brings together bold vision and fearless storytelling. She noted that Junglee Pictures’ innovative approach aligns seamlessly with Gupta’s uncompromising narrative style, resulting in stories that challenge conventions. Calling the association special, she said she was honoured to be part of the creative team.

Junglee Pictures, which made its debut with Dil Dhadakne Do, has since delivered several critically and commercially successful films, including Badhaai Ho, Raazi, Talvar, Badhaai Do and Bareilly Ki Barfi.
