Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ goes on sale in India at effective price of Rs 44,999

Motorola on Thursday announced the sale of its latest flagship smartphone, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+, which will be available across online and offline channels starting from 12 pm.

The company said the new device combines flagship performance, advanced AI capabilities, premium design elements and a pro-grade camera system, with an effective starting price of Rs 44,999 after applicable offers.

The smartphone features a quad 50MP camera setup, headlined by Sony's LYTIA 710 sensor enhanced with Moto AI capabilities. The imaging system comprises a 50MP primary camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom and up to 50x digital zoom, a 50MP ultra-wide camera with macro functionality, and a 50MP autofocus front camera.

Motorola said the device supports Pantone-validated colour accuracy and skin tone calibration, along with 4K video recording at 60 frames per second across all cameras.

Powering the Edge 70 Pro+ is the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor, paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. The smartphone also incorporates a vapour chamber cooling system aimed at maintaining performance during demanding tasks such as gaming and multitasking.

The handset sports a 6.8-inch Super HD+ Extreme AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certification and Pantone validation. Motorola said the panel delivers up to 5,200 nits of peak brightness, while Dolby Atmos-enabled stereo speakers enhance the multimedia experience.

Battery life is supported by a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery, coupled with 90W TurboPower fast charging and 15W wireless charging capabilities.

The device also offers durability-focused features, including IP68 and IP69 ratings, MIL-STD-810H military-grade certification, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

On the software side, the smartphone runs Hello UI based on Android 16 and introduces Motorola's enhanced Moto AI 2.0 suite. Features such as Next Move, Recall, Remember This, AI Image Studio and AI Playlist Studio are designed to improve productivity and personalisation.

Motorola has committed to providing three Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates for the device.

The Edge 70 Pro+ is available in a single 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, offered in Pantone-curated shades including Zinfandel, Chicory Coffee and Stormy Sea with Satin-Luxe, Sculpted Wood and Twill-inspired finishes.

The smartphone carries a launch price of Rs 47,999, with customers eligible for either a Rs 3,000 bank cashback or a Rs 3,000 exchange bonus, bringing the effective price down to Rs 44,999. No-cost EMI options of up to six months are also available.

Motorola said buyers can purchase the device through Flipkart, Motorola's official website and authorised retail outlets across the country.

Additionally, Jio users purchasing the smartphone can avail themselves of bundled benefits, including 5,000GB of cloud storage for 18 months and complimentary access to Google Gemini Pro, subject to terms and conditions.

Motorola also announced that the Moto Pen Ultra, designed for enhanced productivity and creativity with the Edge 70 Pro+, will be available separately at Rs 5,999.
