Redmi has officially confirmed the India launch of its first-ever Turbo series smartphone, the Redmi Turbo 5. The handset is set to make its debut on June 16 and will be available for purchase through Amazon alongside other retail channels.

Ahead of the launch, the company has begun teasing key specifications of the device, positioning it as one of the most powerful smartphones in Redmi's portfolio. The Redmi Turbo 5 will be powered by MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, which the company claims can achieve an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 2.3 million points.

The smartphone is also expected to offer up to 24GB of RAM, including 12GB of virtual memory expansion. Redmi has confirmed that the device will feature LPDDR5X RAM technology and UFS 4.1 storage, promising faster app loading times and improved multitasking performance.

To manage heat during intensive gaming and heavy workloads, the Redmi Turbo 5 will come equipped with a 3D Ice-Loop cooling system. The company has also teased the smartphone in black and white colour options, though the official marketing names of the variants are yet to be announced.

While the India-specific specifications are still being revealed, the Redmi Turbo 5 is already available in China, offering a glimpse of what buyers can expect. The Chinese version features a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, and a touch sampling rate of up to 480Hz.

For photography, the handset sports a dual rear camera setup led by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 primary sensor, accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Selfies and video calls are handled by a 20-megapixel front-facing camera.

With the launch date approaching, Redmi is expected to reveal more details about pricing, storage variants, and India-specific features in the coming days.
