boAt has introduced what it claims is India’s first smartwatch range with direct USB Type-C charging support, unveiling the Storm Call 4 and Ultima Vogue 2 models.

The new wearables are designed to eliminate the need for proprietary charging docks by allowing users to charge the smartwatches with the same Type-C cable commonly used for smartphones, laptops, tablets and power banks.

The company said the move is aimed at simplifying the wearable experience as consumers increasingly use multiple connected devices and prefer universal charging solutions.

Commenting on the launch, boAt CEO Gaurav Nayyar said the company’s focus has been on making technology more seamless and user-friendly. He added that the new devices bring the convenience of Type-C charging to smartwatches, reducing the hassle of carrying separate chargers.

Both smartwatches come equipped with Bluetooth calling, health monitoring features, IP68-rated water and dust resistance, and a battery life of up to seven days.

The Storm Call 4 features a large HD display, fitness tracking tools and a functional crown, while the Ultima Vogue 2 offers an AMOLED screen, metallic frame and improved brightness for outdoor visibility.

The wearables also support heart rate monitoring, SpO₂ tracking, sleep and stress monitoring, emergency SOS and more than 100 sports modes.
