Hajj is a global collective worship. Its dates are fixed according to the lunar month. The rituals of Hajj are performed in Mecca and its surrounding areas over a period of five days, from 8th Dhul-Hijjah to 12th Dhul-Hijjah. The history of Hajj is associated with the lives of Prophet Abraham and Prophet Ismail.
Allah planned to bring about a revolution based on monotheism. For this purpose, Allah sent many prophets in ancient times, but none could form a team, and therefore, the desired revolution could not be brought about in ancient times. After that, Allah made a new plan through Hazrat Ibrahim. Under this plan, Hazrat Ibrahim settled his wife Hagar and his son Ishmael in the desert of Arabia. This incident is referred to in the Quran in these words: Our Lord, indeed I have settled some of my descendants in a valley not cultivated by Your house, the forbidden one (14:37).
Hagar's husband, Hazrat Ibrahim bin Azar, was born in Iraq about four and a half thousand years ago and died at the age of 175. He invited the people of his time to monotheism. But polytheism and idolatry had become so dominant in the minds of these people that they could not accept the message of monotheism. Hazrat Ibrahim conveyed the message of monotheism to people for more than one generation. But by that time, polytheism had taken the form of a civilisation and had become so integrated into people's lives that they could not think apart from it. Every person started getting lessons in polytheism as soon as they were born. To the point that his mind was completely conditioned in polytheism by the influence of the environment.
At that time, Hazrat Ibrahim made a new plan by the command of Allah Almighty. That plan was to create a generation in the uninhabited desert outside the cities. For this purpose, Prophet Abraham settled Hagar and Ishmael in Mecca. In this desert environment, a vibrant nation was created through birth and reproduction over a period of time. The Prophet of Islam was born within this nation. Then, by working within this nation, a team called the Companions of the Prophet was formed.
The great history that took place under the mission of the Prophet of Islam was entirely in accordance with the divine plan. Many prophets came from God during the thousands of years before the Prophet of Islam. During the time of these prophets, monotheism was proclaimed, but no collective revolution could take place based on monotheism, whereas Allah Almighty wanted a monotheistic revolution to be brought about through the Prophet to end the era of polytheism. Finally, Allah Almighty wanted to intervene in history and bring about the revolution that was necessary under Allah’s creative plan through special help. According to Allah Almighty’s general plan, this plan was completed in the form of means.

This special plan of Allah Almighty began four thousand years ago in the Arabian desert through Hazrat Hagar, Hazrat Ibrahim and Hazrat Ishmael. Under this plan, a special race was developed over a long period of time, which is called Banu Ishmael. Due to the superior characteristics of this race, an orientalist has given it the title of a nation of heroes. The Prophet of Islam and his companions were born in this special race. After this, many favourable circumstances emerged under the superior plan of Allah. This was a divine plan of the highest nature from its beginning to its end. The great Islamic history that was created through the Prophet of Islam and his companions was actually the result of this divine plan.
The Quran clearly states that the historical revolution that took place during the time of the Prophet and his companions was not the personal achievement of any individual, but was directly the result of a superior plan of Allah. In this regard, the following two verses of the Quran are mentioned: “They want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even though the disbelievers hate it.” It is He Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, that He may make it prevail over all religions, even though the polytheists may abhor it (61:8-9).
That is, these people want to extinguish the light of Allah with their mouths, while Allah will perfect His light, however much the disbelievers may dislike it. It is Allah Who has sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, that He may make it prevail over all religions, however much the polytheists may dislike it.
The Prophet of Islam has also repeatedly stated this fact in very clear terms. An example of this is that about 20 years after the beginning of his mission, Mecca was conquered, which at that time was the centre of all Arabia in every respect. Traditions state that at the time of the conquest of Mecca, when he entered Mecca victoriously, his neck was bowed out of humility, so much so that people saw that his beard was touching the wood of the slats.
At that time, standing at the gate of the Kaaba, the sermon he delivered contained these words: There is no god but Allah, He fulfilled His promise, and He defeated the enemy forces alone (Sunan Abu Dawud, Hadith No. 4547). That is, there is no god but Allah. Allah fulfilled His promise. Allah supported His servant (Muhammad), and He defeated the enemy forces alone. “Labbayk” means “I am here”, and the meaning of saying this does not mean that I am here to live in Mecca.

This is not a word for leaving the homeland, but rather a word for leaving the way. It means that I am here to obey You. I am ready to abide by whatever you command, with all my heart and soul. A person declares "labbayk" at the place of Hajj, but its practical confirmation has to be done upon returning from there and in his homeland, where he has to spend his life.
