OPPO has long positioned its Reno series as a showcase of stylish innovation, blending premium craftsmanship with youthful design appeal. With the upcoming Reno16 Series, the company is pushing this vision further by introducing a futuristic design language that appears to extend beyond the device itself, creating a sense of depth and spatial illusion.

Inspired by cosmic themes, the Reno16 Series introduces a new 3D Pop Planet design along with OPPO’s exclusive HoloVerse 3D technology and a new AI Snap Key, marking a significant leap in both aesthetics and usability.

A Cosmic-Inspired Visual Identity

The Reno16 Series draws inspiration from celestial bodies and space aesthetics, aiming to deliver a dynamic visual experience where light and depth interact continuously. Designed for a generation that values self-expression and individuality, the series debuts India’s first HoloVerse 3D design, which produces a striking optical illusion that gives the back panel a floating planetary effect.

This effect is available on the Starry White variant and creates a naked-eye 3D illusion in which a planet appears suspended beneath the surface of the phone. The design changes appearance depending on viewing angle, making the device visually distinctive from every perspective.

The effect is achieved through an advanced dual-layer optical system combining a graphic layer with a microlens array. Millions of precision-engineered microlenses manipulate light to create a shifting 3D impression, giving the smartphone an unprecedented sense of depth. OPPO further enhances the look with a Floating 3D Glitter finish and a Dynamic Stellar Ring around the camera module. The device will be available in Starry White, Twilight Violet, and Stellar Purple colour options.

Slim Design with Immersive Display Experience

The Reno16 Series also focuses on comfort and usability in everyday life. The standard Reno16 features a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with ultra-thin bezels measuring just 1.6mm, achieving a 93.4% screen-to-body ratio. It supports FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Reno16c comes with a slightly larger 6.57-inch AMOLED display with similar resolution and refresh rate.

Despite its advanced camera setup, the Reno16 maintains a slim profile of 8.22mm and weighs 182 grams, while the Reno16c measures 8.44mm and weighs 195 grams. Both models are designed for ease of handling throughout daily use.

The displays offer peak brightness of up to 1,800 nits on the Reno16 and 1,400 nits on the Reno16c, ensuring visibility even in bright outdoor conditions. Eye-comfort features are also included for prolonged usage, making the viewing experience smoother and more comfortable.

AI Snap Key Introduced for Faster Interaction

A key highlight of the series is the introduction of the AI Snap Key, a new side button designed to enhance productivity and creativity. A single press allows users to save content instantly to “Mind Space,” while a long press records voice notes and a double press opens the feature directly. Users can also customise the key for quick access to apps such as camera, translator, recorder, and flashlight.

The feature works in combination with AI Mind Pilot, integrating tools like Gemini, Perplexity, and ChatGPT to help users organise information, conduct research, and retrieve saved data efficiently.

Built for Durability and Real-Life Use

The Reno16 Series also brings strong durability improvements with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, offering protection against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water exposure.

OPPO has also introduced an aerospace-grade aluminium frame, delivering higher strength and improved drop resistance compared to traditional materials. Additional features like Splash Touch and Glove Touch ensure smooth touchscreen functionality even in challenging conditions such as rain or while wearing gloves.

A New Direction in Smartphone Design

With the Reno16 Series, OPPO is attempting to move smartphone design beyond flat surfaces and static finishes. The 3D Pop Planet concept introduces a sense of physical depth, while the AI Snap Key redefines interaction by integrating intelligence into hardware design.

Together, these innovations mark a new phase for the Reno lineup—one focused not just on appearance, but on delivering a more immersive and intuitive user experience.
